Elected Officials Database - User input
Heyhey, following yesterday's call i'm recapping the different options found in order to allow user to input some info while avoiding the capacity to delete everything
Option 1 : Users fill out a form, which is sent to us and admins add the data manually into the database
Option 2 : Define specific fields where all users can edit/delete the information
Option 3 : Allow users to only edit empty fields.
Order of preference
- Option 3
- Option 2
- Option 1 --> Not really an option as elected officials (or their teams) can just come & delete their info.
Just as a reminder, the "final" objective is to enable users to add information within specific fields without being able to delete any. For example, the user has a number for his mayor, one is already informed. He can add the one he has, after which the elected official page will show available number.
A complementary evolution will be to enable user to have 1 vote per field in order to "up/down vote" the quality of the contact. This evolution combined with rules (to be determined in time) will be the "removal" process of data
